Woke up early to catch the train to Salt Lake City. I was quite sleepy when I boarded. Denver has a beautiful small train station. I met a mother and her daughter from Southafrica (actually they were British) while buying a baggle. They also boarded the same car so we sat close to each other. We had some great talks during the ride! The ride was veeery long, I think 14 hours. But you just can't get bored on that stretch! It's the most beautiful train ride I have ever been on! Right after Denver the weather was rainy and very foggy so we didn't really see anything while going up to the Rocky Mountains. But after an hour or so the fog cleared up and you had a stunning view for hours! The train goes along the Colerado river for about 230 miles and you see ski resorts and mountain snow tops at first! On the river there are lots people of wildwaterrafting and it has become a tradition of them pulling their pants down and showing them up to the passinf train. You see that quite alot and everybody wants to get pictures of that beautiful view!
Later on the train passes through the Great Plains and the mountains turn into flat grasslands. A few hours later the view shifts towards deserts and canyons! You think you are in Arizona! Coming closer to Salt Lake the terrain turns into mountains again!
These changes are just amazing and I ran out of memory space on my SD card due to all the pictures...
Hey Guys! I'm Chris. Welcome to my blog! I'm currently on my gap year and want to travel the US! Come join me! If you are accessing the site with your phone I recommend to use the web version and not the mobile version because it does not show all elements. ;D
